RUST is iron’s OLD HABIT. It is the byproduct of iron and moisture, is inexorable, and stopping it is hard work. Unless iron is placed in an atmosphere containing literally 0% moisture, it will rust. Such places do not exist with the exception of labs and testing facilities. As correctly stated by Wikipedia -- "Given sufficient time, any iron mass, in the presence of water and oxygen, could eventually convert entirely to rust. Surface rust is commonly flaky and friable, and it provides no protection to the underlying iron, unlike the formation of patina on copper surfaces. Rusting is the common term for corrosion of iron and its alloys, such as steel. Many other metals undergo similar corrosion, but the resulting oxides are not commonly called rust.
In brief -- CORROSION is a scientific process, plaguing industries and destroying items of value. As a result, it causes headaches, stress and financial losses. To that end, erosion protection and other preventive measures are obviously a necesity in order to minimize such deterioration. CORROSION is the enemy! Accordingly, we're going to explain the science behind corrosion!
Oil... Tanks -- It’s no secret that the oil and gas industry has been in a downturn over the past decade. From 2005 to 2014, gas and oil dominated the market. High natural gas and oil prices set the gas supply chain alight, while upstream and downstream operations enjoyed widespread profitability. Towards the end of 2014, however, oil prices began plummeting. For the average consumer, this seemed to be a good thing! Lower gas and oil prices meant cheaper alternatives to heat your home with natural gas. The decreasing cost of gas and oil could be attributed to perhaps the most basic rules of economics: supply & demand.
All and all, toxic materials have historically been a touchy subject. Ultimately, business-to-business or business-to-consumer, providing customers with products of value is the goal. However, companies often overlook health and safety concerns. Sadly, this is often done to maximize sales and profits.
The consequences of what we release into the atmosphere are dire. We hear environmental protection and global warming issues discussed everyday.
Look under the hood of an automobile and what you see might overwhelm you. Simultaneously, dozens of parts -- each with a specific function and purpose, working in unison towards a common goal. In truth, there’s something marvelous about it! So, how do oil-free and reduced packaging initiatives apply?
